Shark in Calpe

Saturday 11th of April

During our morning dive in on the Penon de Ifach here in Calpe, Petra and a group of divers found a Thresher shark measuring 4.4m in length dead in 20m, after fighting to bring the dead shark to the surface they then towed it back in to the dive centre for the marine biologists to assess the shark for cause of death, at the moment they have no clear sign of cause of death, the body has been taken to Valencia for research and to make more tests.

We received the official recognition today to become a PADI 5 Star Gold Palm IDC Resort. This means from now we can offer the full PADI Proffesional range of courses.

We already have plans in Place for Instructor courses over the next few months, starting with an Instructor course for already qualified Divemasters and above to become Instructors and Assistants for teaching people with disabilities to become divers. Course Dates 21st and 22nd of February.(Able to Dive Protrainer)

Then to follow in March we have planned for the 7th and 8th the EFR Instructor course. This course as well is open to qualified Divemasters and above, whether you are trained through PADI or another organization.

The full PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) will follow shortly after with dates to be confirmed in either April or May. We will also be offering tailor made instructor courses run over a series of weekends for those of you short of free time for the intensive course.
