Hi Del and Petra!

Just a short note to thank you all for the great experience we had with you during the past 2 weeks!

The way you assisted Nini in folowing the courses was great, and also the way I was accepted in the family you have there as a non-diver!

We can't wait to come back in five months!
We wish you a great summer with a lot of dives, and a very great holliday in Egypt!

C ya all back in november!

A very big hug and a lot of kisses to you all (and don't forget Cressi!).

Ivo

Southport Branch of BSAC would like to offer their sincere thanks to 'Les Basetes' dive centre, Calpe, Spain, for an excellent weeks diving during the second week of March 2008.

The divers spent three days of diving on the Costa Blanca in excellent diving conditions.
Sea temperatures averaged 14 C, whilst air temperatures soared to 26 C, resulting in some nice tans.

A variety of dives were organised for the team, including 30m dives in and around Cathedral Rock.
A series of cave / cavern dives along Granadella bay and a night dive at Los Arcos.
The night dive was spectacular, providing the divers with the opportunity to see much of the sea life hunting during the hours of darkness. It was also the first occasion when some of the team had seen iridescence within the water.
Granadella Bay provided excellent examples of haloclines and thermoclines for divers to experience for their first time.
Many forms of sea life were observed by the divers, such as Conger eels, Octopus, Barracuda, Scorpion fish, Cuttlefish and many other creatures common to this area of the Mediterranean.
It was also unusual, but very pleasant, to witness a large free swimming Moray eel.

The holiday culminated in a trip to Benidorm Island. Conditions were perfect, with barely a ripple noticeable upon the water.
As the boat arrived at the dive site, the entire team was astounded at the quality of the visibility. Del & Petra included. The sea bed could clearly be seen 30m below the boat.
Upon entering the water, the true specter of the awesome visibility became clear. Banks of sea bream could be seen against a backdrop of rock, from the sea bed to a plateau just 5m below the surface.
There was an abundance of sea life all around the island. One of the team also noticed a ray, which was unusual at this time of the year.
Smaller creatures could be seen upon closer inspection, including some weird and wonderfully coloured Nudibranch.
In fact, the only controlling factor during this dive was the consumption of all available air!
During our two dive visit to Benidorm Island, a Sunfish swam by the boat at the surface. This too was a marvellous sight.

The facilities and service provided by Les Basetes is top class and at an excellent rate.

All of the divers from Southport branch of BSAC who were fortunate enough to take part in this trip, would like to thank Del & Petra for a fantastic week of diving and a well organised, carefree break.

Hi Del and Petra,

This is just a short note to thank you for a most enjoyable two day course obtaining the RYA Power Boat level 2 certificate.
Although I thaught I knew a fair amount about boating having been around the boat scene for many years I still learnt many new ideas and ways of handling a boat and safety measures.
The fine weather certainly helped with the practical aspects when in your rib and Del´s friendly manner along with his teaching technique made it all together a most enjoyable course, thank you.

I will be in touch with in a week or perhaps two to arrange to complete the PADI certificate with yourselves.

Best wishes

John Derrick
